Yogis, health enthusiasts and yoga newcomers rolled out their mats Canada-wide at Yogathon
and challenged themselves to complete 108 sun salutations, a dynamic sequence of yoga movements (asana).

Two hundred participants created awareness about yoga and its healthy lifestyle at Yonge-Dundas Square, and raised funds for Care for Children, an educational initiative helping children in India.

The successful event demonstrates the power of a community to make a difference at a global level. Live drumming and percussion added energy to the event; once their challenge completed participants were invited to rest at a Zen lounge, which offered free massages.

Yogathon 2013 participating cities: Vancouver, London, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, St. Mathieu-du-Parc, (Mauricie), Windsor, Halifax, Ottawa and Pembroke.
