Historically, the origin of Eid Festivals can be traced back to ancient Muslims. However, there are various legends pointing to the origin of Eid Festivals. In joyous celebration of Eid lies the significance of the victory of good over evil after the whole day of fasting. It's a celebration of South Asian identities. Year 2012 is a birth year of this biggest Eid Festival in Toronto. The festival will have everything to celebrate the spirit of Eid – shopping, food, Zakat walkway (see below for participating charities), Islamic speakers, imams, Iftar Taravee and more!
The organizers of the Toronto Eid Festival are committed individuals that aspire to achieve the following objectives at the festival:
• Educate and create a better understanding of Islam.
• Empower Muslims by showcasing leaders, authors, speakers and entrepreneurs.
• Celebrate and rejoice the festival of Eid
Come celebrate your Eid with us!
When: Sunday, August 12, 2012
