On March 7, 2014, “Celebrating Womanhood“, a glittering Gala Event to honour and applaud inspiring women in Canada, will be hosted by WINGS (Women’s Initiatives to Nurture, Grow & Support) & FEMME CIRCLE to commemorate International Women’s Day 2014.
“Celebrating Womanhood” aims to felicitate women who have made a difference to the community and create awareness to support women’s initiatives through the skills and resources of corporate and civic leaders, educators, celebrities, activists, entrepreneurs and other extraordinary women through a fun-filled, eventful evening.
The flight of the founder of WINGS – Sanjukta Das
The force and source behind WINGS (Women’s Initiatives to Nurture, Grow and Support) is Sanjukta Das, a dynamic and deeply philanthropic leader who personifies the words that she has built WINGS with.
Nurturing, growing and supporting is Sanjukta’s second nature. Over the years, she has dedicated her professional life to taking students at Humber Business School under her wing, training them through meditation, stress management workshops, career counselling etc., to help them reach their highest potential.
On the personal front, Sanjukta is an International Art of Living Teacher where she has been conducting stress-management and self-growth workshops through yoga and meditation globally for over 10 years. H.H.Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the global Humanitarian and Founder of the Art of living Foundation is her greatest inspiration.
Sanjukta Das is also a motivational speaker and an acclaimed singer, who has enthralled audiences across the globe.
Originally an immigrant from South Asia, Sanjukta’s journey in this direction started at the tender age of 16 when she had the privilege to work in a Leadership Program with Mother Teresa in India.
Since then, she has been engaged in different volunteer activities for women empowerment and educational initiatives to assist the community around her in diverse ways.
She recognized her contentment in encouraging women to excel and has now shaped that into her mission with her venture – WINGS.
Soar with WINGS
In 2013, Sanjukta Das first held the CELEBRATING WOMANHOOD as a portal to express her vision with the support of World Women Global Council in Canada, on the 9th of March to increase awareness and raise funds to combat violence against women.
The main focus of this movement was to create a stress-free and violence-free environment for women to blossom into self sustaining, empowered individuals simply because she believes that only strong woman can create a strong family, which is turn can create a strong society.
This year “Celebrating Womanhood” has been further strengthened with the collaboration of Femme Circle, media partnership with mybindi.com and generous sponsorship of TD Bank to act as a catalyst for change.
Fly with Femme Circle
Founded by the enterprising travel industry professional Anjana Kochhar, Femme Circle was conceived with the spirit to bring a smile on every woman’s face.
Anjana Kochhar, who worked with Multinationals at senior corporate levels in several countries, had a vision to bring together like minded women professionals to build friendships, bond with their professional expertise and bring home the shared knowledge to empower both themselves and those round them.
Known to make friends easily, Anjana strongly believes that every woman must first love herself and second, reach out to embrace others.
At every given opportunity, Anjana has propagated her desire to strengthen women through active support and participation in events. At the end of the day, nothing gives her greater pleasure than to see women around her smile.
Anjana understands that as mothers, wives and care takers, women should be in the best of physical health, mental balance and spiritual peace to successfully fulfill all duties and responsibilities she chooses for herself. Femme Circle was conceived with the view to allow women to freely express, explore and excel in that direction through a circle of enterprising women who revel in their differences and get together frequently to make a difference in someone else’s life. Femme Circle has now joined hands with WINGS to allow the circle to fly higher and reach out further with the ”Celebrating Womanhood” Gala Event.
