Sampradaya Dance Creations Offers Emerging Artists A New Platform with the Horizon Series

After the successful launch of the Horizon Series in October 2012, Sampradaya’s newest initiative for emerging artists - the second installment of the program is set to take place on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 4pm at the Sampradaya Theatre in Mississauga, Ontario.

The Horizon Series offers a dedicated platform for emerging artists across all South Asian art forms an
opportunity to showcase their talent and to begin establishing their own careers in a professional theatre that
offers state of the art sound and lighting to create a full performance experience.

This particular program highlights the real need for exciting opportunities and affordable performance facilities
for emerging artists to launch and build successful careers in the arts. “There is such a wealth of talent in our
communities that need to be inspired to want pursue their passions and while at the same time knowing that
there are opportunities to showcase their visions and dreams in a proper venue and Sampradaya is pleased to
be offering this platform”, share Lata Pada, Artistic Director for Sampradaya Dance Creations.

This up-coming presentation will feature two rising stars – classical South Asian dance soloists –Parul Gupta

and Enakshi Sinha. Parul is a Toronto-based dance artist who is trained in the kathak dance tradition while,
Enakashi Sinha is a dancer trained in the odissi art form and is based out of Windsor. Their uniquely different
dance aesthetics will be an exciting program to experience. The evening will also feature a talk-back and
discussion session following the performance.
