Nrityotsava 2015!

Nritya Kala Mandir celebrated the 14th anniversary of student accomplishments on August 1st & 2nd, 2015, at Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts!

In order to celebrate student accomplishments, Nritya Kala Mandir [from Sanskrit, literally translates as Temple of Dance], organized the annual event, Nrityotsava [from Sanskrit, literally translates as Festival of Dance].

This year, Nrityotsava 2015, a 2 day dance festival with 4 presentations was celebrated in on honour of over 175 students who showcased their dance talents during Nrityotsava 2015.

The audience was mesmerized by the splendid feat by all the performers of 12 different dance ballets presented during the 4 shows.

The highlights of the performances included ballets enacted on mythological themes:
1. Gauri-putra Ganesha, 2. Sita haran, 3. Ardha-narishwar, 4. Maha Lakshmi, 5. Lanka Dahan, 6. Dev-asur Samudra Manthan, 7. Surya, 8. Krishna, 9. Jay Mahakali Ma, 10. Dashavtar, 11. Jay Shri Ram, 12. a special presentation on Folk dance styles from Rajasthan, the desert state of western India.

Many Dignitaries and Community leaders graced the occasion and inspired the participants.

Nritya Kala Mandir, an upcoming classical dance academy established by Kanan Bhatt, in 2001 mentors youth into performing arts at 4 different locations across GTA. Nritya Kala Mandir strives to promote appreciating ethnic culture and practicing active & healthy living through dance.

Since 2006, the annual event Nrityotsava is organized in presence of community, to celebrate student accomplishments. This year, Nrityotsava 2015, a 2 day event with 4 performances, was attended by 1500 members from the community.

During last 14 years, the students of Nritya Kala Mandir have showcased their talents at enumerable occasions in august presence of celebrities and dignitaries in and around GTA.
