The Winners of the Toronto Dancing Superstar Duet competition
Winners: Vanessa Mangar and Deepta Bonik – Bollywood Fusion
TK Connections and San Souci are proud to announce Vanessa Mangar and Deepta Bonik as the winners of the Toronto Dancing Superstar Duet of LoveBirds2016 who performed against four other duets in Mississauga to win the title. Performing a Bollywood fusion dance in front of an array of judges and an audience of 600 professionals, business entrepreneurs and youth, they were declared winners and awarded a trophy, a cheque of $1500 and an ongoing platform by TK Connections.
1st Runner Up: Sean Quinlan & Briia 2nd Runner Up: Daniel Galicia & James Gibbs
The winners were selected out of the final five semi finalists who performed at Verdi Banquet Hall in Mississauga on February 6. The first runners up award of $1000 went to Sean Quinlan and Briia who performed a Salsa number and the second runners up trophy and $500 went to Daniel Galicia & James Gibbs who performed a Hip Hop number. One lucky duet also got the chance to be part of a music video of an upcoming artist:
The Organizers will provide a continuous manifesto to the winners in the search for the Toronto Dancing Superstar Duet by collaborating with Canada’s Top Choice Pageant. The Winning team at THE VALENTINE NIGHT will be automatically entered without any prior screening or auditions into Canada’s Top Choice Pageant to be held on August 21 this year. The winning duet will also present a 3- minute performance at the Top Choice Pageant’s Grand Finale in August this year,” said Tahir Khan, Tabi Moazzam, Ratika Atwal and Sharan Kaur, directors of TK Connections.
“We want to tell our audience that we want this event to belong to all ethnic communities. LoveBirds2016 is for all of us to celebrate peace, love and humanity.”
The Winning Duet will also be connected to World Championship of Performing Arts director to qualify to compete in California next year in July representing Canada.
The finale was judged by stalwarts from the Performing Arts industry including guest judges Oscar Naranjo, Salsa expert who has proudly represented Canada in various Congresses around the world and Rosalie Fransisco, choreographer and Studio Owner of Dance to the Rhythm; Puja Amin, founder of Sanskriti Arts Ensemble, Divya Gowda, founder of DK Bollywood Dance, Miss Sohni, Creative Director, Academy of Cre8ive Arts, Renee Delgado, Artistic Director and Co-Founder of United Salseros; Tushar Unadkat, CEO and Creative Director of Mukta Advertising and Founder and Executive Director of Nouveau iDEA and Ruchi Sharma, Bollywood jazz instructor with SHIAMAK Toronto and former first runner up in Miss India Canada.
The event emceed by Randy Persaud (Voice of Saugacity), Waseem Shaikh (actor), and Samantha Tajik (former Miss Universe Canada) had the Honorable Lawrence S. Martin, the new Grand Chief of the Mushkegowuk Council as Chief Guest, Member of Parliament Ruby Sahota and Mr. Brian Crombie as well as a host of celebrities. The sold out evening began with a gourmet dinner with a range of exciting and powerful entertainment. The magical evening celebrated the excitement of love, the exuberance of life and the indulgence of luxury with a competition of professional dancers, a live band, a gourmet continental menu and an array of exciting games and contests.
