Shiamak's Unforgettable Summer Funk 2008

Having created an unmatched dance platform for thousands of students around the world through Shiamak Davar International (SDI), world-renowned genius choreographer, entertainer, showman and dance educationist Shiamak Davar set the stage to create magic with Toronto students

Shiamak Davar International (SDI) Summer Funk™ students’ showcase took place at the Living Arts Centre on July 6th, where Shiamak’s Indo Jazz Dance Movement (SIJDM) presented an amazing fusion of Western technique and Indian movement to the packed auditorium .

Popular Bollywood tracks with the very latest moves had all dancing and the song RHYDHUN which sent chills to the audience and brought some to near tears.

“Our SDI motto ‘Have Feet Will Dance’ means that anyone and everyone can enjoy dancing. It does not matter where you come from, what size, shape or age you are. Dance is healing, and it can stir your spirit from the soles of your feet to depths of your soul. It is also amazing fun! So put on your dancing shoes and let God guide your feet,” says dance messiah Shiamak Davar, who recently made news in Vancouver, making Premier Gordon Campbell sample some of his magic along with his dance team with a high pulsating performance at the prestigious India Calling Conference on 18th June 2008.

SDI educates, energizes and reaches out to people from all walks of life, aged 4 to 74 years. Summer Funk™ is a unique program training amateur performers in dance styles such as Shiamak’s Indo Jazz™, Shiamak’s Bollywood Jazz™ and Shiamak’s Yoga-Inner Dance Movement, as well as in the finer nuances of professional stage performance. The new batches begin July 20th in Toronto.

Shiamak’s latest exciting venture is choreographing a massive show which will reach out to a global audience, premiering right here in Canada. The Unforgettable Tour will launch in Toronto at the Rogers Center on July 18, 2008, will move across 18 cities around the world, including Vancouver’s GM Place on August 17th.

Bollywood A-listers like Amitabh Bachchan, international actor Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, superstars Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta will descend to entertain Canada, all of who have worked with Shiamak in the past. They will be dancing to his tunes yet again and dancing alongside them will be the astounding Shiamak Davar Dance Company.
