International Film Festival of India 2011

International Film Festival of India is part of India Show and the Year of India 2011 celebrations and is brought to you by Harpreet Sethi's Grand Victorian Convention Centre and Radisson Plaza Mississauga. The festival is organized by Black Diamond Entertainments in association with Consulate General of India, Directorate of Film Festivals and India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) with Confederation of Industry (CII) as its associate.

Image001The International Film Festival of India in Canada is part of The India Show and is an initiative of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India to promote Brand India across the globe. Brand India is driven by India's Talent, Markets, Growth and Opportunity. The India Show projects the excellence of Indian business across sectors and also features Exhibitions, Meetings, Road Shows and Culture, Cuisine and Tourism as integral elements.

The International Film Festival will be held at the prestigious Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in downtown Toronto, Living Arts Centre in Mississauga and the Rose Theatre in Brampton from Wednesday, October 19 to Sunday, October 23, 2011.

Some very popular Indian films will be screened for FREE during the five-day festival. They include movies such as Chak De India, Lagaan, 3 Idiots, Jodha Akhbar, Tare Zameen Par, Wake up Sid, Waris Shah, Band Baaja Baaraat, Rock On! and Singham. The screenings are expected to be attended by celebrities and dignitaries.

A special concert featuring Ila Arun – A Musical Storm is also being organized on Tuesday, October 18th, 2011. Ila will be accompanied by the multi – talented 40 member band, at the Rose Theatre, Brampton to kick off the week long celebrations.

One hundred and fifty Indian engineering companies are participating in the Canada Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) where India has been selected as Canada's international strategic partner. The Nano car produced by Tata Motors will be one of the exhibits at the CMTS.

The India Show will be held in Toronto from 17 to 20 October 2011, at the Canada Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS), Direct Energy Centre.
