Sampradaya Dance Creations (a Mississauga-based South Asian classical dance company) is committed to supporting young artists pursue a career in the arts. In 2012, Sampradaya launched a performance series called the Horizon Series dedicated to featuring emerging artists trained in various South Asian art forms. On Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 4pm at Sampradaya Theatre in Mississauga, will showcase spoken word artist Sheniz Janmohammed and classical dancer, Atri Nundy in an impactful collaboration of poetry and dance.

The Horizon Series program was created to help emerging artists who have trained in any classical South Asian art form looking for opportunities to perform to further enhance their career. Selected artists perform and share with the audience insight about themselves and their journey as an artist in a talk-back session that follows every performance.

On April 3, the audience will experience the artful collaboration that integrates poetry with classical Indian dance in a new piece created by Ms. Janmohammed (author, artist educator and spoken word artist) and Ms. Nundy (dancer and choreographer).

Tickets for the Horizon Series are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Sampradaya office at 905-607-8434. Adult tickets are $15, student and senior tickets are $10. Space is limited. For more information about the Horizon Series, click HERE.
