Please note Grant’s True Tales, a global series of storytelling events presented by Grant’s Blended Scotch Whisky, has cancelled its Toronto Spring Series as of April 20th.

Grant’s True Tales, a global series of storytelling events presented by Grant’s Blended Scotch Whisky, is soon to start its Toronto spring series featuring stories with a “family theme”. The series will run from April 4th to April 26th at the Brazen Head Irish Pub on Wednesdays and at the Bedford Academy on Thursdays. The family storytelling theme is a natural; every family has a story and the Grant family has a rich one that spans five generations of creating whisky with care and craftsmanship.

In a virtual friends world these evenings of real-life connections are designed to inspire, entertain and unite. Building on the success of the Toronto Grant’s True Tales summer series, storytellers and Grant’s whisky lovers can again look forward to sharing and connecting through the art of storytelling.

Hosts for the spring series are film and theatre actor, Ali Kazmi, teller of tales of misadventure, Rick Langrehr, and “Sammy the Comic” Sam Lupovich.

Beth-Anne Perry, National Brand Manager of William Grant & Sons underscores that, “Storytelling is special to Grant’s and we are delighted to be a part of its worldwide revival. Sharing a tale is a charming, connecting way to spend a social evening with family and friends”.

Launched in Manchester England, Grant’s True Tales was first introduced to Toronto in summer 2011 as a lively eight-week open mic series.

Grant’s True Tales Global Contest

Grant’s is inviting storytellers everywhere to enter and share their True Tales to have an opportunity to WIN a trip to Scotland, the home of Grant’s Whisky. Everyone is invited to participate in the story telling events or to simply upload his or her video to the True Tales Collection at: www.grantswhisky.com/truetales
. A panel of judges will choose the best tale. The lucky winner will get to tell his or her story live on the stage of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Participants will compete to become Grant’s Global Storyteller of 2012 and in the spirit of family-themed tales be one of the very few to visit the Grant’s family home.

Applications are being accepted NOW and until 5pm Eastern Time on June 30th 2012.
