MyBindi Boat Cruise

It was a perfect day for a cruise. The weather was lovely and a soft breeze was blowing over the Lake. The waters were calm and the atmosphere was just right for a cruise around Lake Ontario. 'Summer's here', shouted the weatherman on the Weather Channel as we all set out to sail aboard the spacious new Trillium. The mood for the evening was set when we were greeted at the door by Hawaiian beauties and special guest Crystal, Miss India Bikini 2002.

'Take in the sites of the Toronto Harbour, lounge on one of two roomy levels, or spend the evening dancing under the stars', said the MyBindi organizers Manisha, Sandeep and Charles.

It was a perfect day for like-minded young professionals to mingle on the deck of the fabulous 'Trillium' as she set sail at 6 p.m. for the myBindi cruise.

The evening began with everyone being presented with a Hawaiian garland and a perfect tropical island cocktail followed by hula dance performances.

The focus group was 18 years and above and included young professionals, businesspersons and university graduates.

'I wanted to participate as MyBindi provides such an entertaining atmosphere', says Smriti Dev, an IT professional and very active within SAPNA. Dressed in a mauve off-the-shoulder dress with her long hair blowing in the breeze, her light eyes were lit in anticipation to enjoy the evening.

Her sister, Shruti Dev, Manager at Walmart shook her head in acquiescence and said, 'It's summer time and the cruise is a great way to meet different individuals.' Their friend Reena, currently doing her MBA at McMaster also said the same thing. 'It is a good opportunity to meet other like minded professionals.'

Sandeep Singh, another IT professional. surrounded by his group of friends said, 'We have to support MyBindi as they support our culture'.

The delicious Indian cuisine served piping hot was rounded off with gulabjamuns. After the meal, the DJs started spinning RnB, House and Desi tunes. All aboard danced under the stars to Punjabi tunes rocking with the rhythm of the music. The DJs themselves were enjoying the music as much as the participants were. No one wanted to get off the floor until the Trillium docked back at the harbour at 11:30 pm.

Certainly a perfect way to spend an evening!
