CELEBRATES ONE-YEAR ON-LINE
Toronto,
Canada -- Canada's leading virtual South Asian
community, is busy preparing for its one-year
anniversary bash. The celebration will take
place on Thursday, February 22nd at Fez Batik
in Toronto.
And
they have a lot to celebrate. Explains Manisha,
"MyBindi.com is the most popular source to South
Asia arts, entertainment and culture. We are
getting over 2 million hits per month from South
Asians and non-South Asians alike, all over
Canada and the world!" In addition to providing
content and resources on South Asian culture,
the organization is developing exciting new
initiatives for its audience.
"We
are not just a website -- we are a virtual community.
We not only provide a South Asian forum, but
we are developing much-needed products and services
to enhance the lifestyle of our community. "
This includes travel, food and dating services
customized for the discriminating MyBindi.com
user.
In
honour of its one-year anniversary, the MyBindi
Crew has invited local media, businesses and
community members to join them for an evening
of music, cocktails, and chitchat, hosted by
local celeb Karen Johnson. The Bindi girls and
guys will be sharing giveaways, party favours
and delicious South Asian snacks.
Performing
at Fez will be the talented Lal, whose music
was featured at this year's Du Maurier Jazz
Festival. DJ Felix of Milk and top South Asian
DJ Jiten will pack the dance floor. Guests can
kick back by the fireplace or in the Moroccan
lounge, have their fortunes told, or surf at
the internet cafe. Cover is $10 with part proceeds
going to charity.
