ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!
It was an evening full of glitter, glamour, and style! SUHAAG's
2nd annual Fashion Flair event was once again one of the most
professional and successful fashion shows that Toronto has ever
hosted. Held at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel, the show was truly
a breathtaking experience for the sold-out crowd of over 1,000
people.
With the help of L'Oreal Professionnel, Capucci Salon, Faces
Cosmetics, Indian Costume Jewelry, Swarovski, Ferrari Maserati
of Ontario, and five of Toronto's leading boutiques: Jaipor Creations,
Rawaaz Haute Couture, Saba Apparel, Sahiba Fashions, and XeeA
Fashions, designers showcased their distinct fashions from both
India and Pakistan. The show not only featured the latest crazes
in conventional styles, but also traditional vogues fused with
Canadian designs.
The purpose of the show was to display the various colours, patterns,
fabrics, and styles that have made South Asian fashion so seductive,
glamorous, unique, and now trendy. With the likes of Jennifer
Lopez and Gwen Stefani, to name a few, having dressed in Indian
outfits, it is apparent that South Asian fashion has great influence
on "what's in" in the world of style.
The show also featured the launch of the first issue of SUHAAG's
fashion guide, titled FashionAsia. The catalogue-size magazine
is the first-ever of its kind for the South Asian community in
North America. Front to back cover, the pages of FashionAsia explode
in a kaleidoscope of colour, with bold and beautiful designs.
The ultimate style guide is a complete source for all that's hot
in the realm of fashion, make up, jewelry and lifestyle. From
knowing what to wear and how to wear it, to where to buy it it's
all there in one clever guide.
This year's event had many notable attendees, including Ruby
Bhatia (a former Miss India-Canada), and Rupinder Nagra (the Bollywood
Hollywood fame). The summer/fall fashion show was full of both
summer-sizzlers and elegant bridal wear. And with over 30 modelsincluding
top beauties from New York, India, and Montrealthe event
was a non-stop evening of flair. And if the gorgeous runway models
weren't enough to impress you, there was another model of a different
class that surely caught your fancy. Ferrari Maserati of Ontario
dealers had a Maserati parked right in the show ballroom and were
on-sight to answer questions and provide information for guests
interested or intrigued by the luxurious model of perfection.
The entertainment-packed show also had the likes of classical
dancer, Sukalyan Bhattacharya, provide the audience with riveting
dance moves during the evening.
Fashion Flair 2003 was truly a night that dazzled us all.
