In Your Brownskin I: Bollywood in My Backyard (screening
and discussion)
Produced by the South Asian youth group and youth
steering committee at SAWC, this short film follows
a young girl on her first day at high school. It is
an animated look at the barriers which newcomer youth
face; language, conflicting cultural ideologies, notions
of "fitting in," inter-generational issues
and stereotyping. It works through a violence-prevention
framework and provides resources and information for
empowering young women.

A CASSA and SAWC collaboration that interweaves and
integrates a commentary about discrimination and violence
prevention using dance and drama. A workshop and dialogue
