Masala! Mehndi! Masti!
A festival focusing on the bursting talent of South
Asian Youth has been produced by Magic Feet Canada,
a young community focused arts and entertainment organization
who have in the past produced Panorama India and 'the
worlds longest consecutive singing of a country's
national anthem record' for Guiness World Records
here at Harbourfront Centre!
MMM focuses on new ideas and angles in the performing
arts, film, theatre, natural healing and alternative
medicines, social issues, art and photography, sports,
cuisine and other traditional arts and crafts.

Highlights
Some highlights include the Pier Party's "two concerts
in one", featuring the Toronto Table Ensemble, and
the Desi Dynamite DJ collective featuring DJ's Jiten
and Zahra and performances by Earl Ferns produced
artists Sanjana and 6 Pak.
Sukalyan Bhattacharjee will present a World Premiere
of 'Passions of Spring', a classical dance production
on Norigen Stage. Also dance presentations by over
a 100 students of the Toronto centre for Shiamak Davar's
Institute for the Performing Arts will spotlight 'Bollywood',
India's film music and dance!
India's first and foremost rock band Indus Creed
(ex-Rock Machine), have been re-born as Alms for Shanti,
and are flying in to perform. Vocalist performances
include the 25 member Rashtravani chorale group, urban
music group LAL, and new-comer Usra Leedham.

Other music and dance performances include Aditya
Verma and Vineet Vyas, Gurpreet Chana, TASA and Bageshree
Vaze.
Theatre presentations by Rasik Arts, Step-Up Improv
Group and Rahnuma Panthaky and a mini film festival
is being conducted by www.filmi.org.
Visual arts will feature artists work curated by
the South Asian Visual Arts Collective(SAVAC). An
entirely new section on social issues and Natural
Healing methods will be presented by the Riverdale
Immigrant Womens Center. Popular sports and games
such as Cricket, Carrom and Kabbadi will also be featured.
A Bhangra competition will keep the Norigen Stage
alive on Sunday morning and there is the chance to
win kitchen food processors courtesy Sumeet Kitchen
Machines.
Canada 3000 are the presenter sponsors. MyBindi is
a key partner and the festival is also supported by
The Weekly Voice Newspaper.
