Walk through the history of violence in Sri Lanka. See the short documentaries along with historical and contemporary photographs showing how all sides of the conflict have contributed to the suffering of ordinary Sri Lankans. The opening ceremony at 3:30 p.m. for invited guests will include politicians from all major political parties, diplomats, representatives from human rights organizations, members of Sri Lankan community organizations, media representatives, other guests. There will be two short speeches and peace songs to inaugurate the event. This is a one-night-only exhibit.

Beginning Tabla Class
Course runs for seven weeks. No Experience Necessary. Fundamental study of the tabla including knowledge in the basic strokes and accompanying spoken language - the oral tradition, and the basics of the rhythmic systems and taal structure. Within one term of classes, students will complete some traditional compositions.
Artistic Director/composer for the Toronto Tabla Ensemble, Ritesh Das teaches tabla in the traditional style.
