GLAMOUR, GLITZ, and GLORY
SAMA'S 4TH ANNUAL KING AND QUEEN PAGEANT

There was a special guest appearance by the beautiful newly crowned Miss India Canada Neelam Verma. She gave her congratulations to the organizers and gave words of advice and encouragement to all the Contestants. It was her first official appearance as the new Miss India Canada 2001.

The VIP Members of Parliament Derick Lee and Jim Karigiganis gave congratulations to the organizers and expressed their amazement at the talent of the contestants.

The former 2000 Queen Stephanie Singh gave a moving speech thanking all that made her reign successful. She also gave a spell bounding dance performance with a voice over which highlighted her journey as SAMA Queen. Stephanie will be representling Canada in the upcoming Miss India Worldwide Pageant in San Jose California. Shawn Dhillon former SAMA King gave a short but touching speech thanking Ray and Mala Singh of SAMA and his parents.

The organizers of the event Ray and Mala Singh were grateful to all their sponsors, family and friends. They expressed thanks to the committee members Bob Tuli, Manish Dodeja, Nisha Amin, Shelly Dhingra , Anil Schembi and Viresh Mathur, Ray Singh the President of SAMA then distributed trophies to all the Contestants. Ray said "In our eyes all of our models and all the contestants are winners!"

The judges chose nine finalists in three divisions King,Queen and Princess. The finalists were for King Yasser, Sameer and Dustin, for Queen Gisselle, Preet and Reena, for Princess it was Asis, Tanisha and Nalini. The questions were chosen by each contestant and answered to the best of their ability considering the nerve wrecking feeling of being watched under a microscope by hundreds of people.

While the tallying of the judges score was being finalized the entertainment continued with the famous chart buster hit "Yaddein" by Jolly Bawa. As he sang live and performed his award winning video played on the big screen. The Bollywood Dancers also performed an amazing bollywood mix. One of the highlights of the show was a Broadway style dance by Sweet Vibes Entertainment.

The winners of the Pageant were SAMA King Sameer Dawson of Halifax Nova Scotia, for SAMA Queen Reena Parekh and for SAMA Princess Nalini Ramroop.

Sameer the handsome muscular King is a black belt in Tai kwon Do. He loves to dance. His Hrithtyk Roshan dance wowed the audience. He is currently in his second year in Business Administration.The beautiful aqua green eyed Queen Reena has been a model for SAMA for the last three years, she is a major Leafs fan and a car fanatic, she is proud of her culture and carries her crown with distinction. Reena has been dancing since she was five and has appeared at many South Asian functions. Reena will be Canada's representative at next year's Miss India Worldwide Pageant. The ravishing Nalini Ramroop SAMA's new princess won her way into the audience and the judges's hearts with her version of Ashwariya Rai's "Nimboora". Born in London England Nalini with her cute dimple is an accomplished dancer whose performances encompass semi-classical and modern film dances with bharatnatyam. Congratulations to all the winners and organizers. It was a night of Glamour, Glitz, and Glory.
