Violence against women is an issue that impacts all of us, yet it is mostly women who talk about this issue. We invite men to take ownership and become part of the solution. We are holding a free community cafe where you can join us for thought provoking conversations that will create meaningful change.

Violence against women is an important issue residing all over the world and in Canada as well. Each year, over 40,000 arrests result from domestic violence, which results in about 12% of all violent crime in Canada.

Shakti Society presents a free community cafe to discuss and participate in conversations with an unique approach from men's perspective on the affair to truly engage the whole community.

This event will be held close to Father's Day which falls on June 15th this year to make the day more than a Hallmark holiday. We want the men in our lives, fathers, brothers, partners and friends to take the onus of eradicating violence against women.

Come out with your friends and family to share your thoughts and ideas of how we can change our beliefs around this pervasive issue.

When: June 18 2014
Where: Bollywood Banquet Hall
Time: 5:30 pm- 8:00pm (Doors open at 5:30pm for registration and refreshments)
