ABOUT THE BALLET

One of the formidable goddesses of the Hindu pantheon, goddess Durga primarily combats demons that threaten the stability of the cosmos.

This ballet is like a live mythological film. It is in the form of a humble offering to the Divine Mother and is an attempt to capture the religious fervor and devotion that invariably accompanies Mother Worship. The subject matter of this choreography is based on the Charitas (Stories) from the Devi Mahatmaya and also from the common folklore of Sati, Parvati, and Durga, in that order.

Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to see a beautiful performance by Hema Malini and Group on July 4 at the Hammerson Hall- Living Arts Centre Mississauga!
