Eiproc Profile
Eiproc
(formerly known as East Indian Professional Residents of
Canada) is an organization of South Asian professionals
celebrating its 26th anniversary this year. Eiproc continues
to be a leader in meeting social, educational, cultural,
humanitarian and business needs of the South Asian community.
The various functions, programs and events organized each
year are in keeping with the objectives and principles laid
down by Eiproc's founders.
Each
year Eiproc organizes a number of events including; student
merit awards for South Asian high school graduates starting
first year university studies, Masquerade/Casino event for
the benefit of various mainstream charities and Eiproc's
annual gala - 'The Spring Ball' is an important event on
Toronto's social calendar. The gala is attended each year
by a large number of South Asian and mainstream professionals.
Major Canadian corporations, banks, accounting and investment
banking firms are represented at the gala. In addition,
seminars and social get togethers are arranged throughout
the year.
The
key principals contained in Eiproc's byelaws are:
- To
provide an effective forum for members
- To promote interaction and exchange of ideas amongst members
- To focus on issues of concern to South Asian community
as well as within the community at large and to foster community
spirit.
- To create greater awareness at various levels of Government
and public, of the contributions of the South Asian community
- To develop programs in the fields of education, such as
student awards, health, social assistance, business and
community initiatives.
- To increase participation of South Asians in the mainstream
social activities
- To assist members and their families through personal
and business development seminars.
