Bollywood Bonanza is Back with a Bang!

The Bollywood Monster Mash-Up free concert is coming back to Mississauga Celebration Square on Saturday, August 24th!

Bollywood Monster Mashup (BMM), Canada's largest free Bollywood event, is gearing up to celebrate 100 years of Bollywood with thousands of Bollywood-lovers.

“This year BMM is pulling out all the stops to bring blockbuster Bollywood entertainment to Canada,” said Vikas Kohli, Producer of Bollywood Monster Mashup. “In addition to the hugely popular and massive free Bollywood live music and dance show, we have expanded our programming and this year we are bringing a whole lot of fun activities for everyone.”

Bollywood Monster Mashup, presented by Clorox, is back for its third year with over 10 hours of pure Bollywood entertainment. BMM has expanded to a full-day festival with lots of new activities:

Clorox Bollywood Mashup KidZone where parents can drop off their kids for free fun Bollywood-themed activities, crafts and pickup a special prize

• For the first time ever Dandiya In The Square, presented by Sawitri Theatre, where you'll dance outdoors to popular dandiya tunes performed by a live band

• Get your photo taken for free at the Bring Your Own Bollywood photo-booth, presented by the Blackwood Gallery, where you become the celebrated star in a Bollywood movie poster

FILMI Bollywood Monster Mashup Film Festival will light up the massive outdoor screens where you'll be entertained by a special selection of short films and animations from international and Canadian directors

• Join the fun as the TD Bollywood Mashup Dancers entertain you with a Bollywood fusion dance and then guide you through a fun and free Bollywood dance lesson

• The Youth Troopers for Global Awareness will perform an interactive Bollywood Skit where audience members get a chance to win special prizes

• There will be a bigger and better Bollywood Monster Marketplace with amazing food and unique crafts from around the world

• Follow the special Absolute Yellow art installation from the outside square as it leads you inside to the 011+91 | 011+92 South Asian art exhibit in the Art Gallery of Mississauga

SAVAC: MONITOR 9 video art festival will take over the Noel Ryan auditorium of the Mississauga Central Library to explore new and innovative work by Canadian and International artists, preceded by a special wine reception in the Art Gallery of Mississauga

The massive live music and dance evening show remains under wraps and will consist of performances by an award-winning Bollywood headliner from Mumbai with a full live band, along with a variety of world-class acts such as a professional Bollywood dance troupe, a youtube sensation comedian, and a West-Indian Bollywood crossover band. Every year Vikas Kohli produces an original never-seen-before act for BMM and this year the surprise fusion orchestra will bring together two of the biggest and most prolific cultures in the world. 

The 3rd annual Bollywood Monster Mashup allows the audience to experience Bollywood like never before with international stars, interactive family activities, amazing food, and unique fusion performances — all for free!

About Vikas Kohli

Award-winning film composer and music producer Vikas Kohli is the Artistic Director of MonstrARTity and is known for his expertise fusing together genres as varied as punk, classical and Bollywood pop. He has received the Trailblazer Award from the ReelWorld Film Festival, Voice Achievers Award and a MARTY award from the Mississauga Arts Council. Kohli sits on the board for the Art Gallery of Mississauga, Blackwood Art Gallery and the Youth Code. 

He has been profiled on ET Canada, CBC The National, The Globe & Mail, The Hindustan Times and Zee News. Born in Ottawa, Kohli attended fine arts school, received an Honours Degree in Mathematics & Philosophy from the University of Toronto, his MBA from the Schulich School of Business and his CFA. Kohli now lives in Mississauga, Canada.
