RED FM IDOL 2008


On Sunday March 16, 2008, Red Fm held their 2nd Red Fm Idol 2008 contest. Through rigorous voice tests these contestants where bought down to 6 live broadcasted rounds, in which the listeners where invited to vote for their favorite singer.

This was brought down to 12 outstanding contestants in the semi-final round which included special judge guest Malkit Singh (International Performing Artist) who eliminated 2 contestants.

10 contenders where then put through vocal coaching with Prof. Parmjit Singh and KS Makhan and band rehearsals.

These finalists where bought live on stage at the Bell Performing Centre on Sunday March 16, and where put to the test in front of a 800+ crowd and a panel of 3 judges. The judges included

Binoy Venkatachellum (Examiner for IGCSC Music Cambridge University UK)
Prof. Parmjit Singh (Music Professor)
KS Makhan (International Performing Artist)

The contestant where judged on their voice control, pronunciation, stage presentation and other selection criteria over 3 rounds.

The finals came down to

	1st place Aarati Sriram
	2nd place Bikram Gill
	3rd place Gogi Bains
