ARMAAN Fashion Show - Passion 2008
Reviewed by Rina Gill for MyBindi West

Passion 2008 took place on Friday, February 15th at Bollywood Banquet Hall in Surrey. The fashion designers featured were Armaan Fashion DBG and Marie Earp. It was a wonderful turnout with more than 300 people. Bollywood Banquet Hall was nicely decorated with the Valentine's theme by Art of the Wedding. The show was organized magnificently with great food, entertainment and of course, great fashion!

Sequence 1: Reception
Wonderful, dramatic opening with all 8 Armaan models on stage at one time. Then each of the models came back out individually allowing the audience to have a closer look at the beautiful outfits. The outfit that stood out the most was the grey and silver lengha which was simply stunning.

Sequence 2: Formal Wear
The beautiful models were wearing a mix of fish-cut lenghas and cocktail dresses. This time they were joined by male counterparts wearing matching atchkins. The stylish outfits are perfect for attending galas, corporate events and family functions.

Sequence 3: Marie Earp Lingerie
At first, it almost seemed odd to have a lingerie at a fashion show filled with South Asians. But then considering the show is called Passions, it was very fitting to have lingerie incorporated into the Armaan fashion show. The Marie Earp models confidently took over the stage to music ranging from Def Leppard to Fergie. The lingerie was very pretty, classy and put together in good taste. By the end of this sequence, it was very clear the lingerie added a nice twist to the show.

Sequence 4: Fusion/Casual
Armaan showcased great fusion ideas by mixing Indian influenced jackets with jeans and fusion outfits that can be worn almost anywhere, even to business casual/office functions.

Sequence 5: Bridal
The Armaan models came out at the same time to another dramatic opening. It was hard to look at just one outfit since all of the bright colours and beautiful embroidery danced in front of your eyes. The array of stunning outfits was almost overwhelming. Following the structure of the 1st sequence, all the models proceeded to come out individually. Some designs were really unique - perfect for the bride who is striving to be different. A cool addition to the bride ensemble was the arm jewellery that some of the models were wearing. Almost makes you think, how come nobody else thought of that!

Hats off to Davi Bains-Gill of Armaan DBG for putting on a well-organized, inspiring fashion show.
