Virkit
Introducing Thundervirk
Virkit announces that he will be taking Napster by storm.
The self-proclaimed DJ shouted, "They won't know what hit
'em", as the talent extrodinaire entered his limousine, Monday
morning. After months of requests, we had the opportunity
to interview this often misunderstood and misguided young
man. The topic of our interview: Virkit's two song release
in the Napster community: "Introducing Thundervirk" and "Carlito's
Comeback".
When asked about influences, Virkit remarked, "'Introducing'
and 'Comeback' are clearly throwbacks to the British trance
explosion of recent years." Virkit claimed 'Comeback' was
a personal song, " I've been thinking about it for years."
Carlito's Comeback samples the voice of Al Pacino from Carlito's
Way. The song has been criticized for its profanity, however,
Virkit shrugs it all off. In fact, after a few plays, the
listener is so absorbed that it goes unnoticed. This is because
Virkit manages to blend the live elements of a rave stadium
with the electronic pulsation of the trance phenomenon.
Similarly, 'Introducing Thundervirk' captivates the listener
with a remarkable build-up of eclectic drones and pulsating
beats that would give Underworld a run for their money.
Virkit is a resident DJ of the infamous 'Sneaky Disease'.
His songs are available through Napster; search "virkit".
Although a bit cocky as a newcomer on the scene, it cannot
be contested that this hidden gem will explode in more ways
than one. Our interview ended with Virkit screaming from his
limo "I'm tha fockin' best there is you wanker, quote that."
Here, here Virkit; here, here.
