Vaada

Cast: Arjun Rampal, Amisha Patel & Zayed Khan
Director: Satish Kaushik
Music: Himesh Reshammiya

“Vaada” is based on a husbands’ promise to get justice for his wife’s death. Rahul (Arjun Rampal) and Pooja (Amisha Patel) are a young married couple whose destiny is about to take a deadly turn. One day as Rahul is teaching Pooja to drive, they get into a car accident, which leads to Rahul losing his eyesight. Rahul adapts to his new disability and continues to run his business. On a business trip, he meets Karan (Zayed Khan) and they become friends.

Rahul invites Karan to his house where he is introduced to Pooja. This is the start of a new twist in the story as Pooja and Karan were in love with each other prior to her marriage. Karan was obsessed with Pooja and she ended the relationship but Karan never got over his love for her. Pooja is now torn between the man she loves and the man she once loved. Karan is back to his obsessive behavior and forces Pooja to go away with him.

Rahul in the meantime has gone to Singapore to have eye surgery, which would hopefully help him regain his eyesight. He returns home after the surgery. The next morning, Pooja’s body is found hanging from the ceiling. Rahul turns to Karan for support, little does he know how Karan truly feels. Rahul is now a suspect in Pooja’s death and soon Karan is implicated in the death too.

What really happened to Pooja? Has Rahul regained his eyesight? As the slogan says “Nothing is what it seems”. I truly enjoyed this movie and was very impressed with Zayed’s performance. The music soundtrack had some good songs like “Vaada Haiye”, “Teri Kurti Sexy” and “Main Deewana.” Arjun and Zayed did an awesome job in this movie and both the roles were new to these gentlemen. Look out for Zayed in his next release “Shabd” opposite Aishwarya Rai.
