TREWO Second Annual Health Mela

Health issues continue to be the top priority for all Canadians in every poll conducted year after year. Issues around the ageing population, access to health care, mental health, prevention and screening, crowded ERs and Hospitals, lack of medical care and caregivers are some of the main themes that emerge. TREWO is doing its bit to address many of these issues at their Second Annual Health Mela.

Outstanding speakers will bring current information on Heart Disease, Diabetes, Drinking and Driving, Mental Health Issues among youth, and Women's Health with specific attention to Osteporosis and bone health. There will be cooking demos, and fun ways to exercise through dance, yoga and innovative movement.

Several agencies will display their products promoting healthy lifestyles and children will be given special attention as young learners being introduced to healthy ways of living.

TREWO has been working hard with a group of dedicated volunteers to ensure the highest quality information is given out in creative and innovative ways. One of the main objectives of TREWO is to help communities at risk, seniors, and youth being special areas of interest and concentration.

TREWO has now developed a highly informative website www.trewo.org. Updated health information, healthy recipes and links to other websites are all readily available. The Organization has gone out of its way to work with several NGOs, Foundations, Public Health, and private companies to create an important network to enhance health education and health promotion. TREWO believes that by doing so it can accomplish its objectives without re-inventing the wheel.

TREWO invites the community at large to invest time and effort in joining them to help people to lead healthier lifestyles, decrease morbidity and mortality from preventable illness, addictions and accidents and motivate young people to become leaders and role models for the future in the great effort to create a healthy, peaceful and vibrant world.

TREWO is also reaching out to projects overseas such as Roofs for the Roofless in South India and will soon expand its mission to the most needy and vulnerable populations by working with several outstanding organizations.

The Health Mela will allow the attendees to become empowered and motivated with new information that can be applied in a practical and realistic way to their daily lives. This is indeed a great opportunity to embrace the essentials of health through learning, dialogue and experience first hand the many possibilities that exisit for the human body, mind and spirit to achieve extraordinary levels of health and wellness.
