In Qaeed’s journey as a director, the last 10 years have been particularly eventful and rewarding. While helming some of the biggest drama series on Indian television including receiving an award, it has also awarded me the opportunity to coach some of the finest actors of Indian television. Successful stars as people see them today, were fresh budding talents a few years ago who signed on as lead actors for the shows Qaeed directed.
Today they remember him fondly with gratitude and credit their success to his coaching, while thanking him for his patience. Qaeed says, “I recall filming a difficult scene once. While watching me at work with a new talent, one of the actors commented ‘You communicate so well with the actors. Why don’t you teach ?’ . . . to which one of our senior actors Neena Kulkarni replied, 'Well, what do you think he’s doing?"
Herein lies the genesis of ICANACT. Qaeed was always passionate about teaching, conducting workshops, sharing knowledge, and the fact that he learned more as he shared more and it enriched his learning curve.
