Diya: The Third Annual South Asian Cancer Gala

The Canadian Cancer Society is proud to present "Diya; The Annual South Asian Gala". The event will take place on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Apollo Convention Centre in Mississauga.

Flyer[1]1The Canadian Cancer Society proudly presents "Diya; The Third Annual South Asian Gala" on Saturday October 22, 2011 at the Apollo Convention Centre Mississauga.

The goal of this event is to raise funds to support the eradication of cancer and support the many services for people living with cancer, as well as educate the South Asian community about the Canadian Cancer Society, prevention and how the society is here to help and support the South Asian community.

Guests will have the opportunity to purchase a luminary to honour the memory of their loved ones who have been affected by cancer, and celebrate the courage of survivors within the South Asian community in our captivating luminary ceremony.

The gala will be hosted by Angie Seth, news anchor at OMNI News, alongside accomplished speaker and member of our community, Donovan Fernandes. Special guest speakers include personal trainer and nutritionist Gary Sethi, spiritual leader Pandit Roopnauth Sharma and University of Toronto researcher and cancer survivor, Ranju Ralhan.

The evening will include:

• DJ Services will be provided by world renowned Empire Entertainment
• A complete South Asian menu will be served.
• Live entertainment
• A fashion show from SAMA Models
• Expert mehndi artists from FRESH INC. mehndi
• A silent auction
• Dancing to celebrate the vibrant South Asian culture! 

Businesses interested in advertising their company are encouraged to purchase a full table of 10 where their business will be the name of the table. All proceeds raised will go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. We hope you will join us and make this event a success.
