Diwali - The Festival of Lights at the Bonsar!
Celebrate the Festival of Lights with Food, Fun and Fundraising!!! The Universal Cultural Society of Canada in its third year, in partnership with the City of Burnaby,will celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights at Bonsor Recreation Centre on Sunday November 6, 2011 from 6pm.

In its third year, the Universal Cultural Society of Canada (UCSC) presents Diwali 2011 - The Festival of Lights, a platform to celebrate and showcase South Asian culture while raising funds for The Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
This fun - filled evening will begin with traditional invocations and continue with scintillating Indian performances, including classical dance and vocal pieces. Break dancers and Bollywood fusion groups will maintain the exciting momentum of the evening. The cultural program will conclude with an electrifying performance by award-winning Bhangra team, Jawani and singer Shivangi Bhayana, who besides singing for Bollywood films, has recently released her first single, Jaane Tu Kahan Hain.
The Universal Cultural Society of Canada was formed in 2007 and is a not-for-profit organization, consisting of members of the South Asian community that is keenly involved in social issues affecting South Asians.
The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) provides community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted to have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life. CNIB serves thousands of Canadians of all ages.
