My unending love and passion for makeup goes right back to my childhood. My inspiration for this is the confidence makeup creates in oneself. Make-up is much more than applying lipstick, it’s about applying confidence, and that’s one of the greatest gifts you can give to another women. My inspiration ended up taking me to my career path as a “Professional Makeup Artist”. I’ve always been a people person.

A career in the Beauty Industry gives me an opportunity to connect with people and share my amazing experience. “I often get complimented for turning Ordinary into Extraordinary with the simple stroke of a brush”.

MASTER THE BASICS IN BEAUTY WITH THESE GREAT TIPS!

  • To really open your eyes, use an eyelash curler before applying mascara. Curl gently at the base of the lashes and never beyond the center of the lashes.
  • Never pump the applicator wand in the mascara tube. Doing so will trap air inside and cause the mascara to dry out. Always twist the wand to collect more mascara on the brush.
  • When choosing eye-shadows keep in mind that a pastel shade will look softer while a darker shade will appear more dramatic when applied.
  • Eye shadow colours should be selected carefully, light shadow is applied on to the lids to create a base. Darker eye shadow is used on the outer corners of the eyes, to enhance the eyes.
  • A kajal or kohl stick can be used in the inner eyelid to make the eyes appear even more dramatic.
  • A great trick to know where to apply blush, bend over for 30 seconds, then slowly stand up. Where your cheeks are flushed is where you are meant to blush.
  • Blush should enhance your complexion and not change your natural skin tone. Use sparingly for daytime, add more or a deeper shade for a more dramatic effect.
  • To get plumper, pinker looking lips, do not touch up by drawing a hard lip line; smudge it so lips look fuller! For a more dramatic fullness, choose a lipstick with a hint of frost.
  • For a creamy effect, apply a lip balm to lips before applying lipstick.
  • For a matte effect, apply lipstick then blot gently with tissue.
  • For a sheer effect, apply lip balm. Use neutral color lipstick across lips, then smooth out.
  • For a glossy effect, apply lipstick then finish with a clear or neutral color gloss.
  • For smooth, soft lips, gently rub a clean damp cloth on lips for 60 seconds before applying lipstick.
  • Always apply a lip balm or conditioner throughout the day to keep lips hydrated.
  • Whether it is a sunny or cloudy day, always be sure your makeup foundation or moisturizer contains SPF 15 or higher.
  • When choosing a foundation color, match the tone of your jaw line exactly. Use a mirror outdoors to see how shades look in natural light for best results.
  • When choosing a concealer, match your skin tone or one shade lighter. Use a mirror outdoors to see how shades look on your skin in natural light for best results.
  • Prepare your skin with a light SPF moisturizer before applying concealer for a smoother application.
  • Avoid powdering under the eyes as it can make fine lines and wrinkles appear more obvious.
  • Facial oil-blotting sheets help to remove excess oil and shine without disturbing your makeup. Carry them with you everywhere you go!
